How To Pull Off Happy Hour with Kids in North Texas
Happy Hour. It’s a part of what we do. Its what we did in our 20’s and even as we grow our families, we still want to go. Besides, its probably a good price so really its a budget-friendly activity. As long as you don’t plan on chugging down Goldschlager shots then its probably okay to bring the kids (for those of you who would like to attempt to have a social life while also having kids) maybe invite some friends who also have kids and need to get out, and check out my 5 best places to Happy Hour with Kids.
Four Happening Places to Happy Hour w/Kids in Collin County
- Chuy’s– this Tex Mex restaurant is a great place to have happy hour with your kids because both you and the kiddos will love the fully loaded nacho car. Free food, inside a car, inside of a restaurant.
- Mi Cocina– perfectly placed right on the creek in Watter’s Creek in Allen. Sit on the patio with some sips and let your kids run wild along the creek.
- Starbucks – what the what?!?! I’m talking about the Starbucks in Murphy. Its super chic and cozy since the remodel this past year. And according to the poster on the window, it will be one of THOSE Starbucks. Yup. The kind that will be serving adult beverages pretty soon. So you can hang with your girls with a glass of wine while Junior is sipping on his hot cocoa.
- Central Market – in Plano, off of the George Bush tollroad is this HEB offspring. There is a patio upstairs where you can order a beer or a wine . . but if you go back downstairs, there is a huge red playground with seating inside or outside to let the kids run off their endless amounts of steam.
Believe me Moms (and Dads) – this can be done. You can get out, have a refreshing beverage at a cool Collin County spot AND have your kids with you. It’s almost like a date! So be brave, pack up the crew and Happy Hour like the BC days! Cheers!
Tell me…what is your favorite patio/restaurant/bar to socialize with or without your kiddos? I am always looking for new places to try.
