Love chocolate? This run is for you! The Chocoholic Frolic 5k/10k is coming to the Dallas area and it’s fun for all! Are you competitive? The 5k and 10k are chip timed and you will be rewarded with chocolate at the finish line. Just want to take your sweet time? Run, jog, or walk your way through these courses and enjoy a chocolate stop. Kids can join in too! Each kid recieves a race shirt, tote, and a finisher cookie. The event ends with melted chocolate and treats for dipping at the finish line! Each participant will receive a techinical quarter zip jacket, race tote, and a Chocoholic Frolic Finisher Bar.
#2 Dickens in Historic Downtown Plano

Plano Parks and Recreation Department will host Dickens in Historic Downtown Plano on Friday, December 4, 2015. Activities start at 6 p.m. and will conclude at 10 p.m. with the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony taking place at 7 p.m. in Haggard Park, 901 E. 15th Street.
A variety of food vendors will offer an assortment of tasty treats during the evening. Concessions will consist of hot drinks for the cool evening, soft drinks, kettle korn, corn dogs, funnel cakes, and a food lover’s fare from several of the downtown restaurants including Ye Ole Butcher Shop, Urban Crust, Jorg’s Café Vienna and Angela’s at the Crosswalk.
A special Santa mailbox will be installed in Haggard Park near the Interurban Railway Museum for children who would like to write a letter to Santa. Letters received will be hand-delivered to Santa when he arrives at Dickens in Historic Downtown Plano. Santa will visit with children at his house on J Place from 6:30 – 9:30 pm.

On Saturday, December 5, Heritage Farmstead Museum of Plano will host its 29th annual Lantern Light, a holiday family event for all ages. This year’s event is themed “Home for the Holidays.”
“Lantern Light is a unique holiday experience that provides Heritage Farmstead Museum visitors the opportunity to recall holiday traditions from days gone by,” said Heritage Farmstead Museum Executive Director M’Lou Hyttinen.
The event will feature tours of the holiday exhibit in the Farrell Wilson House, children’s crafts in the one room school house, wagon rides, candle dipping, historic demonstrations, storytelling, songs of the season in the historic pole barn, delicious treats and photos with Santa.
For the first time, the event will also feature ice skating. The meadow on the Heritage Farmstead property near 15th street will be transformed into an ice skating pond. OMG!! Sign me up!

Santa’s Village, a tiny town of 16 holiday dwellings on the north side of City Hall, is a holiday tradition for families from Richardson and beyond. Children can find a different activity inside each colorful building, culminating with a visit with Santa Claus himself.
