Summer is only getting hotter and if you are looking to cool off with friends and family then you might want to know where to rent a boat in Dallas.
If we take a look at all of our surrounding lakes, there are at least 15 to choose from. But depending on where you live in the metroplex (I know the majority of my readers are in Collin County), then you might be most interested in these 5 lakes:
1. Lake Lavon (east Plano, Wylie, Parker)
2. Lake Ray Hubbard (Rowlett, Rockwall)
3. Ray Roberts Lake (McKinney, Celina, Denton)
4. Grapevine Lake (Carrollton, Grapevine)
5. Lake Lewisville (West Plano, Frisco)
Lake Lavon Boat Rentals
Woody’s on the Lake is located in Wylie at the Collin Park Marina. Here you will find the classic pontoon options that work great for a family of all ages, a big cooler and your dog. Or, go all out with the infamous Texan.
The Texan is your opportunity for a local private cruise. This large boat comes with a captain and can accommodate up to 24 passengers. It also includes a grill, radio, huge deck, on-board bathroom, and crew.
Head over here Woody’s on the Lake to see more pics.
Lake Ray Hubbard
One of our favorite lakes to take the stand up paddling board to paddle along the paddling trail (no wake from boats permitted, its awesome).
You’ll want to take a peek at Chandler’s Landing if you have kids.
They offer the Aloha 30 Double Decker, a double-decker pontoon, equipped with a water slide! Perfect for lounging, swimming, and having fun! They also have tubing, fishing boats as well as jet skiis.
Ray Roberts Lake
For those of you on the north side of the metroplex, you might find this spot to be your go to lake.
Head to the Ray Roberts Marina and choose from small or large pontoon boots, kayaks or stand up paddle boards.
Here is the link to the marina’s boat rentals.
Grapevine Lake
If you are on the west side of the metroplex, perhaps Carrollton or Grapevine itself, then you get to treasure fabulous Grapevine Lake. This area is home to so many attractions such as a quaint downtown area, Gaylord resort, hiking and mountain biking trails.
But if its too hot to do any of that, you might want to discover where to rent a boat in Dallas – Grapevine Lake is another option.
Located along the shoreline of Lake Grapevine, Silver Lake Marina is a boat and watersport rental and activity complex serving Grapevine Lake.
2 standout boats at this marina include:
The luxurious Tejas is huge and can hold up to 100 passengers.
While the Goose Party Boat can hold up to 50 people (also a double decker).
See more over here on their site.
Lake Lewisville
When we lived on the west side of the metroplex, we would be here all the time. And now that we are on the east side of DFW, we don’t venture near I-35. Anyone relate?
However, if you are close by, its not as harrowing of a journey for you to have an adventure at Lake Lewisville.
And if you are looking for a boat rental in Dallas, look no further than Cottonwood Creek Marina.
Cottonwood Creek Marina opened in 2003 on Lake Lewisville and is located on the Northeast Shores of the lake in Little Elm, TX.
I hope this blog post has given you insight on where to rent a boat in Dallas. It has been one of the top questions I receive over on our Facebook page.
P.S. We highly recommend investing in a quality dry bag to protect your valuables. Trust us, spending a bit on one of these could save you thousands in replacing car keys, car fobs and iphones.
