We made it. Barely.
Truth be told we slid into September with a worn out spirit, some dried out garden beds, some random patches of fried lawn, and a heap of grief that came chocked full of emotions that need to go to the city dump.
Soooooo, not too bad =)
Despite my best efforts it’s inevitable it seems that when September comes, my tolerance for “fun in the Summer sun” gets the best of me.
The last few weeks I have spent scrolling the web looking for monthly rentals in Jackson Hole, Aspen, Flagstaff, Ketchum, Missoula, Vermont, Cape Cod, Nantucket Island . . . and anywhere that I found Summer pictures of women with Ralph Lauren sweaters paired with linen pants.
But then in a miraculous glance at my iphone’s 10 day forecast I saw THE drop. 90’s.
Then some rainy days in the 70’s.
Followed by multiple 80 degree days.
Creek Walking in Dallas
I’m probably not the only one in DFW that sighed with relief.
And so we took off to a spot in the trails that we had on our to-do list as soon as we thought we could survive without turning into raisins and the fear of snakes might be behind us.
Creek Walking in Dallas!
With our new rescue Henry in tow of course.
The water is clear and sparkly! And in most areas about 3 inches deep.
We are huge fans of our water hiking shoes for this reason – these are the shoes. We have made fans of this shoe to anyone we recommend them too. So perfect for living in the South.
As we approach the beginning of Fall, gone are the days of hygge and off on adventures we go.
