Now that Summer is here in all her glory (otherwise known as triple digits) it’s time to find respite in the water. There are water parks in Collin County for all ages – Plano, McKinney, Allen & Frisco.
And even a few on the edges of the county that have to be mentioned.
Afterall, with this Texas heat, what could be better than a Water Park? With just 6 weeks left of this sizzling Summer, it’s a great time to go let off some steam before school strikes up again and you and the whole family are back to the grind.

Here are the Best Mini Water Parks in Collin County
Tom Muehlenbeck Recreation Center
Over on the west side of Plano is this fabulous city-owned rec center. It has an indoor 25-yard competition pool and leisure pool with waterslide, an indoor lazy river current channel, play feature, and ramped entry. Outdoor leisure pool has a 3 waterslides, water spray fountains, children’s play area and is attached to a spray pad.
And just so you know, the water slides will not disappoint! Try all 3 and try to figure out which one is the fastest.
One more thing . . . when the indoor water slide is open, dare devils need to try this. It spits you out from 10 feet above the pool. Soooo fun!!!

Jack Carter Pool
This renovated Plano classic water rec center was renovated a few years back.
It is a must-visit this Summer!
Unique features include a climbing wall and diving platforms and flowrider. Also at the site is a lazy river, a tube slide (single or double), slide, dump bucket, sprayers, playground areas, and basketball and volleyball nets. Restrooms.

The Apex Centre
McKinney locals will agree that this is the place to camp out for the Summer if you have little ones. The Apex Centre in McKinney includes a 25-yard-by-25-meter pool for competitive and lap swimming, a leisure pool, water park, and an outdoor leisure and recreation pool.

Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium
Allen residents can take a break from the sun by visiting the Rodenbaugh Natatorium indoor water recreation center. This natatorium is complete with sprayers, a tunnel, a pint-size waterslide, buckets, rain fountains, a lazy river, a 16-foot flume slide, a shallow pool and a lap pool.
One more thing, they also have an indoor rock climbing wall.

Frisco Water Park
Frisco is kid city! Which means Moms are looking for places to go during this Summer heat to let the kiddos expend energy and cool off at the same time.
The Frisco Water Park here’s a play area for toddlers and infants with spray features, a bucket dunk, and two small water slides. The older kids will want to take a ride on Big Blue, the indoor water slide. Everyone will also love floating the lazy river, splashing down the outdoor slides, relaxing in the warm water pool, and burning off some of those Shiner Bocks in the lap pool.
And for more fun play, head to the Fort, a multilevel interactive water playground with three slides and more than 85 spray features. Also new in 2015 is the Preston Plunge, a 45-foot high head first wild slide.

Old Settler’s Aquatic Center
Here’s another one for McKinney peeps. This aquatic center has an outdoor shallow water pool with open flume slide, floor bubbles, lemon drop sprayers, tea cups and cascading waterfall. So after a morning of walking around the McKinney Square you can head here for some Summer chill time.

Lastly, we just have to mention the Hawaiian Falls water parks on the outskirts of Collin County. One is in Garland, minutes from Murphy/East Plano area while the other is in The Colony. These are perfect alternatives to driving all the way over to Hurricane Harbor in Arlington. Smaller. Easier parking situation. And one of these options is most likely within 20 minuted of your home.
