What’s amazing about the Internet + 2022 is that there are so many ways to operate your own website. It is seriously amazing!! The diversification we have in our income is astounding to me and truly so much fun, especially being a creative soul!
About this website, in the past we have worked with many local businesses on sponsored articles, we’ve been provided gift exchanges and been approached by many more businesses wanting us to write about them in exchange for a free product or service. Even local governments. Oh, and even when we have been customers. Imagine paying for yourmeal in Downtown McKinney and then asking for a write up by the end of the week – say what?!?!
Even though we could respond with a business advertisement opp we say NO to partnerships, advertising deals, sponsored articles and gift exchanges.
Currently, we cannot support these efforts especially with gift exchanges, where we are given product or services or overnight stays in exchange for blog post write ups. These were our most time consuming projects and we found to be truly imbalanced in the amount of time to create these posts, create graphics, editing and get published.
This website, our other niche websites, dog mom group, dog mom newsletter, email newsletter and corresponding social media channels keeps us busy. And what keeps us even busier is our consulting and graphic design businesses.

Why?
We prefer to speak about our true experience with a business, event or service. We are behind the scenes people and operate this site as such.
Local businesses – many have closed or do not have the proper online structure for us to direct business to. This makes our extended outreach more challenging to help a local business grow. Over the years, I have consulted with hundreds of businesses where I have specifically use strategies to send traffic their way, into their business, calling on the phone or over to their website. If a business does not know how to sell over the phone, provide good service in their store or know how to book a customer, driving traffic to the business is pointless.
The groundwork has to be laid first to have a perfect flow of clients into your pipeline.
Local government – the world needs less government not more. So many of the local publications here eagerly take local government funds to share the message the city or county government wants them to share. We have zero interest in this pursuit nor will we use your taxpayer money to accomplish this. I remember sitting with a publication that absolutely hated the Balloon Festival in Plano (yes, this festival has changed so much since its humble beginnings) but they were in full attendance to write about it and broadcast about it for months prior to the event. This is how ads work. To each their own.
