Dallas is a great place to live if you have a dog. And as my household would have it, we have 2. 2 GIANT dogs, Dutch & Dewey. Thankfully, there are plenty of dog parks and even some patios that allow dogs to hang out with you. Just like us, you just have to decide where to go with your furbabies – and you will need to hurry before the HEAT settles into our great state. I’ve done some digging for you, so read on for our list of awesome dog friendly patios in Dallas.
For all of you lovely Dog moms and dads in Dallas, Texas!
If you’re looking for a place to take your dog on a gorgeous day, and you would prefer for a more chill hangout then a noisy muddy dog park, there are plenty of dog friendly patios in dallas that allow your fur children to come and hang out with their humans.
On this post, I have focused on Dallas but keep in mind there are lots of places in the burbs as well. I think we have taken Dutch & sweet Bow Bow to Frogg’s Coffee in Watter’s Creek (Allen)a dozen a more times in the past.
And before I forget, it is essential that you ALWAYS carry water with you. We have some big drinkers in our household so we would never go with out a water carrier like this one.
Sometimes we like taking each individual dog, that would be Dutch and then Dewey on individualized personal outings.
So I think of this list as a resource for myself to skim through and see where Dutch might want to spend a Sunday afternoon with me.
And if you have read this far in this post, then you are smiling because you are all about those personalized outings.

Awesome Dog Friendly Patios in Dallas
Dogs have become a HUGE part of the family as of the past 5 – 10 years.
And since Brian and I do not have children, a lot of our emphasis goes to our dogs because of this. Even if you have children, you might still be as obsessed about your dogs like we are.
Although, because we have large dogs, some might say GIANT dogs, we are mindful of the location and how busy one of the patios might become as Dutch and Dewey are each the size of a person.
They don’t seem to be able to fit in any of my purses very well.
You’ll want to choose the best setting that will be right for your dogs energy level – for example, we always give our dogs an hour or two of exercise before we head to a cafe to sit with them. Its necessary for us and may or may not be necessary in your situation as well.
Here are some of the best dog-friendly patios in Dallas.
THE RANCH AT LAS COLINAS
They have a spacious patio that feels like your own Texas-sized backyard.
Be sure to look through the menu that offers 4 different pup pilates or 2 homemade dog treats!
ALL breeds and sizes are welcome at Vodka For Dogs a dog-friendly event, who also have Vodka for People (happy hour from 3pm to 6pm each day)!
The Ranch at Las Colinas is undeniably pet-friendly.
HG SPLY CO
If you’re going to Lower Greenville, your dog can take advantage of a rooftop patio or shaded sitting. It’s no surprise that the staff at HG Sply Co. will also serve water to dogs, as well.
This is one of our faves on warmer days because the breeze and view are much appreciated.
CHELSEA CORNER
Chelsea Corner is a popular destination for sports fans which might feel like that is all of Dallas most days.
Either way, they have an amazing dog friendly patio to chill on.
Their popular Beer Garden is dog-friendly and offers several seating options for brunch with your pup.
I think Sunday brunch with your pooch is an amazing idea.
STATE & ALLEN KITCHEN + BAR
You may know that State & Allen’s patio is dog-friendly, but do you know they have treats for your furry friends?
The next time you dine at one of these restaurants or stop by for a drink on their outdoor patio, ask the server to bring out an in-house pup treat while you enjoy your meal.
KATY TRAIL ICE HOUSE
There are so many dog friendly patios Dallas but this one straddles Dallas and Plano with an additional branch at Park and Preston.
A dog-friendly patio is one of the best types of patios for dogs. Plano’s Katy Trail Ice House Outpost offers this type of space, and so does probably the most iconic dog friendly patio in Dallas.
Whether it’s summer or winter, they’ve got dog friendly patios that are perfect for anyone traveling during the day. Or swinging by after an afternoon at Jack Carter Dog Park.
Everything from water bowls to medium coverings and shaded areas-they’ve thought of it all!
I love that Katy Trail Ice house is one of the many of our dog friendly restaurants if not one of the best patriotic dog friendly restaurants.
LA LA LAND KIND CAFE
La La Land Kind is a Dallas TX gem for sure!!
I immediately have visions of yellow and white in my head thinking of my last Instagram post.
While La La Land Cafe is known for its beautiful fresh decor (Influencers cannot be kept away 😀) that’s perfect for a post work coffee date or sitting down with friends, it also offers an outdoor environment just as relaxing.
Its also a great place to fuel up prior to a good long walk through Greenville and the M streets.
La La has an amazing mission as well and its just the kind of place I like putting my money towards.
Straight from their site:
The name La La Land land represents a dream world. We set out to bring La La Land to life. A place where you walk in and feel a true sense of joy for life. A place where you are loved for who you are. A place that brings together all human beings. A place where kindness is priority. If we can have a positive impact on all human beings who walk through our doors, the kindness will spread like wildfire. The more stores we open, the more people we touch, the more we can prove that kindness is the way. People before profits. Lets create a business model that encompasses everything we wish to see from businesses today. Let’s raise the standard of what we expect from businesses. If we can prove that a business can be kind, give back, care about their community, and serve high quality products while still making a profit, we will prove it can be done.
La La Land is one of Dallas’s best places to dine outside with your pup in tow. They have a patio where you can leave your [small] dog while you enjoy coffee and avocado toast.
LAZY DOG
Lazy Dog offers a dog menu including 2 savory dog bowls; chicken or beef with brown rice and veggies.
Take my money!!!
(check out the one in Allen just off Central Expressway as well)

MUTT’S CANINE CANTINA
Leave it to Dallas TX to have one of the most chic dog parks around. A canine cantina in every way. And at its minimum, a very welcoming dog park.
Mutt’s Canine Cantina provides an off-leash dog park and beer garden, where you can enjoy your time with your pup.
Mutt’s also offers birthday packages for your pup and fun events like Mutts Movie Nights to appeal to dog-lovers.
And get this . . .
If you love celebrating your dog’s birthday, check out their Pawty Packages and look into booking your next dog birthday party over here.
There are 4 things you should know about this popular spot in Dallas: 1) Dogs must be over 4 months, 2) dogs must have been spayed or neutered, 3) the dog must be friendly around people, and 4) you need to pay to enter with either a daily pass or a monthly membership.
➡️ P.S. Word has it they might even add an additional location in Allen near Watter’s Creek, we will see what happens!
One more thing, head over for Yappy Hour before 6 pm for $3 drink specials!
THE SHACKS AT AUSTIN RANCH
The sign outside should say, Dogs are Welcome!
The Shacks provides six diverse restaurant choices that all share one large, dog-friendly patio and overlooks a 1-acre dog park.
In fact we even celebrated a Dog Mom’s Mother’s Day a couple years back.
Great news for animal lovers and dog parents alike! Ten Ramen, Turbo Coffee, Grrrowlers, Dirty Burger, Tackle Box and OMG Tacos have not just something for you to eat on their respective patios—they also offer an open-air space where your pet can make new friends.
TOLLER PATIO BAR + KITCHEN
At Toller Patio Bar + Kitchen on Ross Avenue, you can always expect patios full of people and puppy love. Its in the heart of Dallas where the majority of residents have dogs as children . . not human children just yet 😀
Stop by for happy hour before 7 PM and enjoy tasty food from the patio while you’re out with your pup, enjoying one of their peanut butter puppy popsicles.

Bishop Arts District, McKinney Ave, Greenville Ave (overall), Trinity Groves, Lee Harvey’s, Cane Rosso . . . but because you are such awesome dog owners you might already be aware of those spots around DFW.
Are there any benefits of bringing your dog to a patio or beer garden?
Pet parents know that weekend plans are better when they’re shared with your dog.
I believe that the emotional benefit for you and your dog will last a very long time.
Just make sure the weather is tolerable for your dog and that the ambiance is a fit for your dog’s personality.
