The Complete Guide to the Highland Park Texas Bakeries
From custom cupcakes and cakes to revamped doughnuts and éclairs, bakers and entrepreneurs are bringing some lovely baked goods to Highland Park and beyond.
Here are the places to indulge your sweet tooth
1. Bird Bakery
7A Highland Park Village
Originally started in San Antonio by Elizabeth Chambers and husband/actor Armie Hammer, BIRD Bakery opened their second shop in Dallas in 2016 inside Highland Park Village.
Its a busy space but they always have room for more guests.
I recommend the Nutella loaf.
Highly highly recommend the Nutella loaf.
2. JD Chippery
Family owned and operated by the Broad Family since its opening in 1983, JD’s Chippery has served four generations of the Park Cities area with yummy fresh-baked cookies and muffins, hand-squeezed lemonade and limeade and custom-mixed fountain drinks.
And FYI, they use Guittard chocolate chips (those are the best kind to use in a cookie).

3. Pokey-O’s
Pokey-O’s has been a main stay on Mockingbird for many, many years.
If you ❤️ cookies, then this is your spot.
You can get a custom Pokey O with any of their 16 flavors of Blue Bell Ice Cream and 13 kinds of cookies, and even have it rolled in a topping.
Awesome for a cookie fix and right near SMU.

4. Royal Blue Grocery
Head to the back counter to order coffee and peruse the baked goods on display.
I promise this ONE thing . .
You won’t be disappointed with anything in this hip market.
Worse case scenario? Snag a hazelnut Ritter Sport to pair with your drip coffee.
