Yes, there are special days for trash pickup.

To play it safe, add these important dates to your Google calendar.

I swear by using my Google calendar for everything.

I get notifications, can get a quick glance at important dates in the future and can delete items once they are done. That’s seriously the best! I love crossing items off my list. What a rush 😂

Holiday Schedule for Frisco Texas Garbage Collection Holidays

NOVEMBER 🍁

Saturday, November 9: Household Chemical and Electronics Disposal and Reuse Center and the Environmental Collection Center are closed for the Community Parade.

Saturday, November 16 – Frisco has come up with an amazing event for all your junk removal – Chunk Your Junk

Thursday, November 28 – This is Thanksgiving day. Go eat, go have fun. Have a meal at Highland Park Cafeteria mentioned here.

The curbside services are delayed by one day.

If your recycling and trash are regularly collected on Thursday (like us), your services will be moved to Friday, November 29. If you are out for Black Friday at 3:00AM then make sure to put that trash out on Thanksgiving night.

Now, if your regular trash collection day is on Fridays, then your services will be moved to Saturday, November 30.

DECEMBER 🎄

Tuesday, December 24 & Wednesday, December 25 – Don’t be silly, everything is CLOSED. Relax and start filling up those trash bags with all the wrapping paper and Mattel boxes.

Wednesday, December 25 – Just like Thanksgiving day, everything is delayed by one day. Thursday pickup goes to Friday and Friday pickup goes to Saturday.

Wednesday, January 1 – On New Year’s Day everything is closed of course. And just like Thanksgiving and Christmas, all of the curbside services are delayed by just a day.

And the following Monday, trash collection services and your entire life will go back to normal. The hullabaloo is now all over. 🎉

To sum up Frisco Texas Garbage Collection Holidays ⤵️

No trash or recycling services are provided on the following days:

New Year’s Day
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Day

If your garbage collection service day should fall on or after one of the above noted holidays within the same week, then your trash pick up and recycling pick up will be provided on the next day.

If a holiday ever falls on a Sunday, this will be treated as a normal weekend with no delays in service.

Go to 6616 Walnut Street in Frisco, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and pick one up for free.

But what about those ‘unusual’ items?

Christmas Tree Recycling

The City of Frisco provides curbside holiday tree recycling to all residents for their convenience.

What’s really awesome about the City of Frisco is that they will not add your tree to the landfill but rather turn it into mulch and compost. So rest assured you will not be adding to the overwhelming problem of stuff taking over our landfills.

In order to get your 🎄 Christmas tree picked up at the curb, you’ll need to follow these guidelines:

Do cut trees over 5 feet high into sections.
Do not cover tree with a plastic bag, as this will prevent pickup (see image below, in order for it to be composted, it cannot be wrapped in plastic).
Do place trees out on your regular collection day
Do place the Christmas tree at edge of your property
Do remove anything that is not considered the natural tree. Everything. Ornaments. Wires. Whatever you put on there so that the tree is in its pure form.

If you had a tree in your home that has that fake snow spray on it. The ones that look like this.

DO NOT put this kind of tree out for collection.

It will NOT get picked up because it is full of chemicals.

This stuff looks really cool on your Christmas tree but because the tree is intended for composting and mulch, it needs to be picked up completely natural.

If you have a snowflocked tree, then you will want to call Frisco Environmental Services to schedule a pick-up at 972-292-5900.

As soon as midnight strikes on Thanksgiving Day, the whole pumpkin thing is over.

You gotta get rid of it, besides you’re pumpkin is probably rotting on one side anyway.

Do not put these pumpkins into your recycle bin. I know your tempted but what you need to do is put these yucky pumpkins into a yard waste bag.

So you hit up Pinterest and decked out your front porch to be totally worthy of all the repins and likes on Instagram.

Now you have a few bales of hay and they might even be a little soggy after all of that rain.

If it’s hay. Hay goes into yard waste bags as well.

If you are inspired by Chip and Joanna and prefer doing the DIY thing:

There is a Do-It-Yourself Disposal option.

If you’ve gotta a big ‘Bringing Up Bates’ style family you’ll have more trash.

So for trees and extra holiday trash, you can go to the Custer Road Transfer Station at 9901 Custer Road in Plano.

Frisco residents can bring their driver’s license and a matching, current copy of their Frisco water bill to receive up to 2 free visits per month.Yay!
